How to do this exercise
- Step:1 Stand with your feet hip-width apart, hands on your hips or clasped in front of your chest.
- Step:2 Shift your weight to your left leg and take a big step back with your right leg, crossing it behind your left leg (as if curtsying).
- Step:3 Lower your hips until your left (front) thigh is parallel to the floor. Your right (back) knee should come down toward the floor, just behind your left foot.
- Step:4 Keep your torso straight and make sure your front knee stays in line with your ankle, without sagging inward.
- Step:5 Push firmly on the heel of your left leg to return to the starting position.
- Step:6 Repeat the movement on the other side alternating or complete a set on a single leg to increase the muscle burn.
- Step:7 Keep your hips facing forward as much as possible throughout the entire execution.
