How to do this exercise
- Step:1 Place an elastic (mini-band) around your legs. (Position low at the ankles for more difficulty, or just above the knees for more control).
- Step:2 Place your feet shoulder-width apart to put tension on the band and bend your knees slightly into a quarter squat position.
- Step:3 Keep your torso straight or slightly tilted forward, hands in front of you or on your hips.
- Step:4 Take a controlled side step to the right, while maintaining tension in the elastic.
- Step:5 Bring the left foot to the right, but never let the feet touch to keep the glutes under constant tension.
- Step:6 Continue several steps in one direction, then return in the other direction.
- Step:7 Be careful that your knees do not collapse inward (valgus) during the movement.
